Messaging Terms (SMS)

These Messaging Terms describe the SMS program operated by Review La La (a service of Marshland Software, LLC) on behalf of the businesses that use our platform ("Customers"). They supplement, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Program description
Review La La is software small businesses use to request feedback from their customers. When a Customer turns SMS on, we send review-request and follow-up text messages to that Customer's End Customers, on the Customer's behalf, through a registered SMS provider (currently Twilio). Each Customer is responsible for collecting prior express consent from their End Customers before any SMS goes out.
2. Sample messages
Sample messages a Customer might send through the Service:
- Opt-in confirmation (first message after enrollment): "You are now opted in to review-request texts from {Business}, sent through Review La La. Freq: 1–3 msgs/transaction. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help."
- "Hi {Name}, thanks for visiting {Business}. How would you rate your experience 1–5? Reply with a number. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Msg & data rates may apply."
- "Glad you enjoyed your visit to {Business}. Mind sharing a quick public review? {link} Reply STOP to opt out."
- "Thanks for the feedback — we've passed it on to the {Business} team. Reply STOP to opt out."
3. How End Customers opt in
Opt-in happens between the End Customer and the business directly, not on this website. A Customer typically collects a phone number on an intake form, a booking flow, a point-of-sale screen, or a paper form, and shows clear consent language at that moment. The disclosure most Customers display reads:
"By providing your mobile number, you agree to receive review-request and follow-up SMS messages from {Business Name}, sent through Review La La. Message frequency: 1–3 messages per transaction. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Messaging Terms."
Consent is never a condition of purchase or service. Each Customer keeps a record of the consent it collected.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies with the Customer's review-request schedule and how often an End Customer transacts with that business. A typical End Customer receives one to three messages per transaction — an initial review request and, at most, one or two follow-ups. Customers can shorten or disable follow-ups in the platform.
5. Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Review La La does not charge End Customers for messages. Any carrier charges for SMS or data are between the End Customer and their wireless carrier.
6. Opt out — STOP
End Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. We also honor STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT. After an opt-out, the End Customer receives a final confirmation and stops getting SMS from that Customer's program through Review La La unless they opt in again. Opt-out is automatic.
7. Help — HELP
End Customers can reply HELP to any message and get a response that names the business that texted them, links these Messaging Terms, and provides a contact email. They can also email support@reviewlala.com.
8. Supported carriers and delivery
The Service supports messaging across major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery may be affected by network conditions, device settings, or carrier filtering.
9. Prohibited content
Customers may not use the SMS portion of the Service for content prohibited by carrier policy or law. That includes unauthorized financial-services solicitation; gambling content where prohibited; cannabis, CBD, kratom, or controlled-substance content; firearms, ammunition, or explosives sales; "SHAFT" content (Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco) where carrier policy prohibits it; third-party debt collection in violation of applicable law; phishing or fraudulent content; and anything that violates the CTIA Messaging Principles & Best Practices.
10. Privacy
Mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and consent records are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The SMS and phone-number information section of our Privacy Policy has the full detail.
11. Changes
We update these Messaging Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" above shows when they were last revised, and material changes are communicated where applicable law requires it.
